where in the northern side of the temple the Almighty is blessing as "Aravindhaloshanar" in His Sitting Posture facing East. Thayar is blessing as Karunthadankanni Nachiyar".
Oce a Rishi named "Atreya Suprabar" performed a yagna here in the temple and after completing the yagna, he was cleaning the yaga salai and found a "Tharasu - a Weighing Scale" and a "Bow". By toching those they transformed into a Mand and Woman. They explained they got cursed by Guberan and he also given relief from the curse that once if they get touched by a Rishi. Tharasu is also called as "Thulam" and a Bow is called as "Vil" in Tamil. Since this is the place where they got rid of their curse, the temple is being worshipped as "Thulami Villi Mangalam" and now it has become "Thulaivillimangalam".
Once a Rishi named "Subrabar" was performing poojas here and it's his usual practice that after completing the yagna in the shrine of "Devapiran", he would fetch red lotus flowers from the temple pond on the northern side and offer the same to Devapiran. One day he noticed that Lord Maha Vishnu stood at the north side of the shrine to see from Where Suprabar was fetching such beautiful flowers. Suprabar who came with flowers asked the Almighty the reason for following him. Almighty with a smile replied him that he was fascinated by the red lotus flowers and asked Suprabar to perform pooja there itself as He didint want to make the more tired to reach the temple as he was already became tired by colleting the Red Lotus from all around the pond. Delighted Suprabar performed poojas with Red Lotus to Srinivasan along with Devapiran. It is strongly believed that one who worship Him with Red Lotus will get blessed and the sins would washed off. Aswini and the Devas worshipped Lord Vishnu here as per the advice of Brahma. Vishnu appeared with the lotus flowers in hand and cleared their worries. Also as per another story, A man named Vibhidagan Who lived on the banks of the Ganges offered worship here. Vibhidagan was curved of his leprosy When he bathed in the holy water here. He stayed here for long and did service to Vishnu. Nammazhwar hymned pasurams about the Almighty along with Thayar at this shrine only |
